Howard Carroll Smith, 85, of Port Neches, Texas passed away April 11, 2011. He was born July 11, 1925 in Mississippi. He served his county in the Merchant Marines. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Port Neches. He retired as a chief engineer with Texaco.He is survived by his wife, Audie Barnhill Smith of Port Neches daughter, Carol Ann Smith of Port Neches and two granddaughters, Abby Woodrick of Port Neches and Sarah Romero of Seattle, Washington.He will be buried in Oak Grove Cemetery in Shreveport, Louisiana. Services are under the ion of Melancon39s Funeral Home in Nederland, Texas.
