Howard Joseph Holst, II: A Life of Service, Song and Love
On June 12, 2024, the world lost a beautiful soul when Howard Joseph Holst, II, passed away in Beaumont, Texas. Howard was formerly an Office Administrator at DJ's Boudain;
Howard's heart was as big as Texas itself, and he poured it into everything he did. Whether he was dishing out meals with Nutritional Services for Seniors or cuddling puppies at the Southeast Texas Humane Society, Howard had a knack for brightening days and wagging tails wherever he went.
Now, let's talk about Howard's guitars - oh, how he loved them! His fingers danced across the strings, creating melodies that could make you tap your feet or bring a tear to your eye. For Howard, music wasn't just a hobby; it was the soundtrack of his life.
Howard's family was his everything. As a son to Zim and Linda Morris of Port Neches, he was their pride and joy. To his siblings - Angel (and Chad), Tammy (and Troy), Jennifer (and Jeff), Stacia, Andrea (and Rudy), Lyndi (and Wayne), and Daniel (and Regina) - he was the brother who always had their backs. And let's not forget the army of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends who adored him!
But Howard's family extended beyond blood ties. He found brothers and sisters in the Kairos Prison Ministry, where he brought hope behind bars, and in the Emmaus Community, where he walked alongside others in faith.
Howard had this magical ability to make you feel like you were the most important person in the room. His laughter was contagious, his hugs were legendary, and his heart and generosity? Well, it knew no bounds.
We'll be celebrating Howard's life on June 15, 2024. Join us for a visitation at 1:00 PM, followed by services, at 2:00 PM at 2001 Nall St, Port Neches, TX 77651.
So here's to you, Howie-animal whisperer, faithful servant, music maker, and the best darn friend, uncle, brother, and son anyone could ask for. May heaven have a guitar waiting and plenty of puppies to pet. We'll miss you something fierce, but we promise to keep strumming, serving, and loving in your honor. Rock on, Howie, until we meet again.
