Hunter Douglas Guidry, 17, of Nederland, Texas passed away on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at his home.
Hunter was born on November 4, 2003, in Port Arthur, Texas. He was a Junior at Nederland High School and a member of the First Baptist Church in Nederland, Texas. Hunter was a selfless and hardworking young man. He had many aspirations in life, but one of the biggest was to follow in his brother’s footsteps and become a member of the United States Marine Corps. He had a kind heart and a sense of humor that could make anyone laugh. Hunter was known as the class clown and he had an ability to put a smile on the face of someone who needed to brighten their day. He had the type of personality that would light up an entire room, and was always eager to lend a helping hand to someone in need. Hunter was a great athlete and had the ability to be good at anything he put his mind to. He loved all sports, especially football and fishing. Two of the most important things to Hunter in life was his family and friends. He had a tremendous love for everyone close to him and touched the heart of everyone he met.
Survivors include his loving parents, Scott and Andrea Guidry; his girlfriend, Karen Baur; his grandparents, Don Bartz and Diane Bartz, Frenchie Guidry and Rebecca Guidry, and Sandra Chapman; his brother, Damion Guidry and his wife Karli; his sister, Brooklyn Guidry; his niece, Paisley Guidry; numerous loving family members and friends; and his beloved dog, Jewels. Hunter is preceded in death by his grandfather, Charles Garland.
A visitation will take place from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday, September 26, 2021, at the First Baptist Church in Nederland, Texas. A service for Hunter will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, September 27, 2021, at the First Baptist Church in Nederland. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
