Ima Grace Sheffield, a longtime resident of Port Neches, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, in Beaumont, TX, after a lengthy stroke.
Grace was born on April 23, 1940 to Farrington N. Sturrock and Joyce Carter Sturrock in Beaumont, TX.
She was was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. She attended school in Nederland, Texas, where she was valedictorian of her Class in 1958. She then attended Lamar College where she earned her degree in Secretarial Science. She worked for Texaco for 35 years before retiring. She loved to travel, sew, work crosswords and was for years seen walking the mall and having coffee with friends. She was a mother in love to her stepdaughter Vickie Sheffield Styles.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Hestel Gene Sheffield, brother, Nelson Steve Sturrock and son-in-law, Danny Styles.
She is survived by her daughter in love, Vickie Styles, stepson, Timothy Sheffield (Marie); stepdaughter Tonya Wilson (John). 6 Grandchildren and 18 Great grandchildren. Her cousin Nelson Flanagan and her dear friends, Renee and Tim McMillan and their family.
Services will be held at Melancon's Funeral Home, 1605 Avenue H, Nederland, Texas, with visitation at 10:00 a.m. and funeral at 11:00 a.m.on September 9, 2024.
Interment will follow at Colmesneil Cemetery in Colmesneil, TX.
