Ira "Ike" L. Pillsbury, 84, of Groves, Texas passed away Monday, January 24, 2011 at Renaissance Hospital in Groves, Texas. He was born August 8, 1926 in Argonia, Kansas to George M. Pillsbury, Sr. and Hannah Barragree Pillsbury. "Ike "was a resident of this area for 67 years and was a retired pipefitter from Local #195 with 65 years of service. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Port Arthur and member of Metro Lions Club of Port Arthur. He was also a U.S. Navy World War II veteran. He was preceded in death by his previous wife, Sharon Gene Pillsbury; daughter, Doris Pillsbury; grandson, Nicholas Ryan; five sisters and five brothers. Survivors include his wife, Viola M. Pillsbury of Groves; brother, George M. Pillsbury of Groves; step-daughter, Karen Phillips of Houston; step-sons, Charles M. Foster of Groves and Russell F. Foster of Shreveport, LA; grandson, Jacob Ryan; step-grandchildren, Damien Phillips, Tanner Phillips, Cade Foster and Emerson Foster; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 29, 2011 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves, Texas with Reverend Christie Hale officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday evening from 4:00p.m.-7:00p.m. at the funeral home. Friends wishing may send memorial contributions to the Lions Club.
