Irene Fontenot Irene Fontenot, 90, of Groves passed away Saturday, February 12, 2011 at Christus St. Mary Hospital in Port Arthur, Tx. She was born on October 22, 1920 in Maxine, Oklahoma to George Washington Goad and Rebecca Day Goad. Irene had lived in this area for 65 years and was retired as an Avon representative. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Dr. Joe Worley of First Baptist Church in Groves officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. A visitation for family and friends will be Monday evening from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Percy Fontenot and her daughter, Judith Fern Fontenot. She is survived by two daughters, Gwen Stelly of Nederland, Tx. and Beverly Thibodeaux and husband, David of Wildwood, Tx.; five grandchildren, Jeroy Stelly, Jr. and wife, Cindy, Troy Stelly and wife, Stacy, Mary McBee and husband, Matt, Tray Binagia, and Judy Taylor and husband, Darrin; eleven great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
