Irma Lillian Durio, 76, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas. Irma was born on March 5, 1937 in Lincoln, Texas to Charles A. and Lydia (Sander) Siegmund. Irma was baptized on March 14, 1937 at St. John Lutheran Church in Lincoln, Texas by Rev. R. Osthoff. She started school at St. John Lutheran School in Lincoln where there was one building for all eight grades. Confirmation occurred on April 2, 1950 at Christ Lutheran Church in Loebau, Texas by Rev. H. Hartfield. Her confirmation verse was Luke 10:42 "One thing is needful. Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her." Irma came to Port Arthur in February 1951 to live with Annie and O.W. Burton. She graduated from Port Arthur Night School in 1960 and shortly thereafter went to work at Standard Brass Mfg. Irma was united in marriage to Robert Gene Durio on May 26, 1962. She then stayed at home to raise her family of three children. After rearing her children, she resumed working part-time at Texaco Island Credit Union in 1978 then worked full-time at the main office (which became 5 Point Credit Union) as a Loan Officer where she retired after 21 years of service. She has been a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Port Arthur and has served on the Stewardship Committee for about seven years. Irma was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Lydia Siegmund; daughter, Denise Morgan; an infant brother; three sisters, Hattie Kieschnick, Laura Mittasch and her husband Herbert, Mary Wachsmann and her husband, Lawrence; and nephew, Milton Kieschnick. She is survived by her devoted husband of 51 years, Robert; son, Kevin Durio and his wife, Leslie of Suwanee, Georgia; daughter, Rachel Durio of Port Arthur; and son-in-law, Charles Morgan and wife, Vicki of Port Neches. Irma has three grandchildren, Brian Morgan and his wife, Jessica of Cypress, Texas; Michelle Morgan of Port Arthur, Texas and Peyton Durio of Suwanee, GA; two brothers-in-law, Ed Kieschnick of Manheim, Texas and Curtis Durio and wife Norma of Richmond, Texas as well as numerous nieces and nephews and many cherished friends. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, September 22, 2013 from 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves, TX. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 23, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2400 5th Street, Port Arthur, TX with Reverend Timothy Dinger and Reverend Dan Malain officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Mark Durio, J. Keith Durio, Delbert Wachsmann, Jude LeBlanc, Derick Drummond and John Tomplait. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to Trinity Lutheran Church, 2400 5th St., Port Arthur, TX 77640 or charity of your choice.

Many memories of one the great Port Arthur Moms. I was very blessed to know Mrs. Durio because of my friendship with her wonderful daughter Denise. I know they are together again. Thoughts and prayers to the Durio Family.

Dearest Rachel, Kevin and I are very sorry for your loss, but we are fully aware of your mom's new found joy, being reconciled to the Lover of her soul.
