Irvin Jessie "IJ" Marshall

Irvin Jessie “IJ” Marshall, 92, of Nederland passed away Friday, June 8, 2018. Mr. Marshall was born on December 24, 1925 in Isola, Mississippi to the late Tom Marshall and Tommie Grace Taylor Marshall. Mr. Marshall lived and raised his family in Vicksburg, Mississippi until he moved to Nederland where he resided for 40 years. He served his country in the U. S. Navy during WWII and was a founding member of Triumph Church since its inception in 1983. Mr. Marshall retired from Sears and Roebuck after 39 years of service as a Big Ticket Salesman.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Virginia Juaweece Ellard Marshall; his three daughters, Eva Carnell Scarborough and her husband, David, Renee Marshall Clark and her husband, Randy, and Leah Marshall Mazzapica and her husband, Frank; his grandchildren, David Aaron Scarborough and his wife Natalie, Keisha Scarborough Boulden and her husband Blake, Randon Marshall Clark, and his wife Lindsay, Cara Clark Lewis and her husband Ryan, Hannah Clark Rohani and her husband Sam, Frankie James Mazzapica and his wife Allie, Jonathan Ambrose Mazzapica, Nathan Shane Mazzapica and his wife Meghan, Meagan Elizabeth Mazzapica Harvey and her husband David, Isabella Alexandra Mazzapica, and Gabriella Grace Mazzapica; and his great-grandchildren, Eva Jane Scarborough, Marshall David Scarborough, Sloane Blakely Boulden, Jackson Read Boulden, Kennedy Brooklyn Clark, Randy Parsons Clark, Payton Clark Lewis, Parker Ryan Lewis, Quinn Honor Lewis, Uriah Clark Rohani, Preslee Kate Mazzapica, Luke Frankie Mazzapica, Kate Allison Mazzapica, Caleb Harvey, and Ethan Harvey. Mr. Marshall is preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings, Admal Edward Marshall, Herbert Edwin Marshall, Mattie Leona Champion, John Thomas “JT” Marshall, James Martel Marshall, Buford Marshall, Martha Lee Nixon, twins: Tom Grady Marshall and Grace Marshall Fields, and his twin sister, Eva Iona Tatum.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. Monday, June 11, 2018 at Triumph Church in Nederland with Funeral Service to follow at 7:00 p.m. at the church under the direction of Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland. Additional services will be held in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Serving as pallbearers are David Aaron Scarborough, Ryan Lewis, Rodney Rodriguez, Windall Broussard, Allen Tate, and Mark Meaux. Honorary pallbearers will be Pastor Frankie Mazzapica, Pastor Daren Hearnsberger, Mark Burns Jr., Bill Moses, Willie Jackson, Henry Labrie, Eugene Tannehill, Harold Flood, Keith Sexton, David Gauthier, Herbert Henry, Percy Francis.
