J.C. Pope, 81, of Port Neches, Texas passed away Sunday, December 3, 2017 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur. J. C. was born May 20, 1936 in Laurel, Mississippi to James L. Pope and Viola Rabb Pope. He was a lifelong area resident and member of the Church of Christ. J. C. retired from Fina as a shift supervisor after 27 years of service. He proudly served in the U. S. Army. Survivors include his daughter, Donna Pendergrass of Nederland; two sons, Keith Pope and wife Brenda of Porter, and John Pope of Port Neches; three grandchildren, Timothy Pendergrass and wife Amy, Ryan Pope, Cody Pope and wife Jessica; four great-grandchildren, Michelle, Hunter, RykerLee, and Blaine. Cremation was under the direction of Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches. A private burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.
