What an absolutely wonderful man, husband, father, grandfather, and friend to everyone he ever met. I grew up 2 doors down Gulf Street from the Mire's, became good friends with David, playing baseball, football, or whatever was the sport of the day. J.D. was such a positive role model and showed his true colors as a servant of God with all he did for St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. He was a true role model for me as well, as I was at his home quite a bit growing up. I praise Almighty God for J.D.'s life and know he is basking in the glory of heaven with Pattye and all his family and friends who have gone before us. I pray for the family here in this life and ask God to give them strength and courage in the days and weeks ahead. I know I will miss this wonderful man, because, as I have told many others before, J.D. was like a second father to me. Cynthia and I will always remember how gracious and loving you were to us. Rest in Peace, my friend.
