James Delbert Peet, Sr., 84, of Port Neches, Texas passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Magnolia Manor in Groves, Texas. J. D. was born July 8, 1933 in Mauriceville, Texas to the late Johnie Floyd Peet, Sr. and Virgie Mae Wilson Peet. He was a resident of Port Neches for sixty-four years and a member of Primitive Baptist Church in Port Neches. He was a retired Lab Supervisor with Texaco Chemical. J. D.s membership involvement was Chairman of the OCAW Workmans Committee for several years; Neches Federal Credit Union Chairman of the Board for 19 years; and, served on several committees for the City of Port Neches. Visitation for family and friends will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 2, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches with Judge Brad Burnett and Elder Mike Rhodes officiating. Entombment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park. J. D. was preceded in death by both parents, his brother, Johnie Floyd Peet, Jr., and his granddaughter, Marlee Floyd Willingham. J. D. is survived by his wife, Carole Peet of Port Neches, Texas; daughters, Laura Lynn Keeney and husband Floyd of Port Neches, Texas; Jeri Floyd of Port Neches, Texas; son, J. D. Peet, Jr. of Austin, Texas; sister, Mollie Linscomb and husband Walter of Vidor, Texas; son-in-law, Ronnie Floyd of Port Neches, Texas; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The family would like to express their thanks to the staff of Magnolia Manor for their devoted service over the last four months.
