J. D. Roger, 84, of Port Neches, Texas passed away January 18, 2013 at Calder Woods Nursing Home in Beaumont, Texas. He was born in Carencro, Louisiana on June 7, 1928 to the late Jesus and Inez Cormier Roger. He retired from Gulf Oil Corp.Chevron in Port Arthur where he was a Lab Technician. J. D. was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at 10:00 a.m., Msgr. Bennie Patillo celebrant. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A gathering of family and friends will be held at Melancons Funeral Home in Nederland on Monday, January 21, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary being recited at 6:00 p.m.J. D. is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Anne Mae Guilbeau Roger. He is survived by his 2 daughters, Linda Thomas and husband, Doug of Port Neches and Judith Vincent and husband, Joey of Port Neches his son, James Roger and wife Judy of The Woodlands 10 grandchildren, Scott Roger, Milissa Harris, Andrea Boever, Christy Holleman, Michael Roger, Bobby Thomas, Jill Voss, Brandi Thomas, Hazel Reidy, and Jamie Louviere and 17 greatgrandchildren.
