My condolences to the Allen Family. Jack was my father's (Phm2c Lewis E. Foster , 112th NCB WWII)Seabee Shipmate. They built and fought their way across the Pacific to Victory and we are enjoying the FREEDOM that they earned for us. I wish all to know that Jack unselfishly planted Texas "goober" peanuts on Tinian which were sent to him by his mother from the family farm. That first crop fed many in service at that time and further presently grows wild and is enjoyed in the Marianas. I confirmed this story about 10 years ago. I always enjoyed talking to Jack and my father said that he was a "REAL SEABEE" When I look upon the Seabee Monument at Arlington, I can see Jack...his compassion, work ethic, patriotism. He is a "Seabee's SEABEE" In my opinion! Heres to Carpenter's Mate Jack Allen, presently serving on the Commander's staff in Heaven's Scenes. SALUTE

My Uncle Jack was truly an inspiration in so many ways. There was really nothing the man could not bring to life that was first created within his own gifted mind. He was truly a great, God-Loving, dear saint of a man whom I will miss greatly. He personally enriched my young life more than I can ever describe, and my deep love for him was truly shared by my mother (his sister, Mary Allen Cregg), my father (Kent Cregg), and my brother Jeff Cregg. Jeff and I continue to break into deep belly laughter to this day over Uncle Jack's wonderful character/brand of humor. May his memory long live in our hearts and minds as he has now joined many loved ones in heaven. Love and prayers to all of the family.
