Jack O. Bowser, 86, of Groves, Texas passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at Magnolia Manor. Jack was born August 5, 1929 in Deweyville, Texas to Oran H. Bowser and Pauline Mixon Bowser. He was a resident of this area for 64 years and was a member of Groves First United Methodist Church. Jack retired from Jefferson Chemical as an accountant after 21 years of service. After his retirement he went to work with the PNGISD as Tax Assessor/Business Manager for 14 years. He was also a U. S. Navy veteran. Jack was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Joe Bowser. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Bowser of Groves; daughter, Dayne Hill and her husband John of Orange; son, Kyle Bowser and his wife Becky of Houston; sister, Pat Williams of Evadale; brothers, Ronnie Bowser and his wife Karen of Nacogdoches, and Mike Bowser and his wife Linda of Montgomery; four grandchildren, Betsy Castille and her husband Collin, Sally Johnson and her husband Jacob, Tony Bowser, and Jack Hill; three great-grandchildren, Caroline Rose Castille, Easton Emile Castille; and Ruby Jayne Johnson. A visitation for family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Marty Boddie officiating.
