Jack Lundy, 85, of Groves, Texas passed away Sunday, February 16, 2014 at Mid Jefferson Extended Care Hospital in Nederland, Texas. Jack was born August 23, 1928 in Andalusia, Alabama to George Willis Lundy and Lizzie Nowling Lundy. He was an area resident for 68 years and member of First United Methodist Church of Groves. He retired in 1975 from Atlantic Richfield as a merchant seaman with 30 years of service. Jack was a member of Stokes Masonic Lodge #609 of Andalusia, Alabama and member of Order of Eastern Star Groves Chapter #953. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Nora Lundy. Survivors include his beloved, Gwenda Ratcliff of Groves; daughter, Jackie Davis of Port Arthur; Shannon Ratcliff of Groves who he called son; grandchildren, Jennifer Porter and husband Darren of Hemphill , Session Davis and wife Lindsay of Bridge City, Shea Ratcliff of Groves, and Carli Ratcliff of Houston; great-grandchildren, Jaryn Porter, Maesyn Davis, and Hudsyn Davis. Jack was also survived by special friends, Billy Dalby of Nederland, Brent "Slick" Vincent and wife Glenda of Mississippi, Curtis Hollier and wife Jeannie of Groves, Charles Rush and wife Beverly of Louisiana, Melissa Trautman of Louisiana, and Rollin Gattis of Groves. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Reverend Beverly Tune officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Bluff Memorial Park. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday evening from 5:00 p.m. -7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
