Jacob Bert Solomon

1931 ∼ 2025

Jacob Bert Solomon, affectionately known as "Jake," was born on September 17, 1931, in Port Arthur, Texas. He departed this life on April 27, 2025, in Kerrville, Texas, leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication to his family and friends.

Jake enjoyed a fulfilling career as a pipefitter for Texaco Chemical Company, where he was known for his skill and work ethic. He took great pride in his profession, yet it was his zest for life and passion for exploration that truly defined him. A devoted member of the Allegro R.V. Travel Club, he cherished his adventures across the country, reveling in the beauty of the outdoors and creating lasting memories with his loved ones.

Family was of utmost importance to Jake. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife of 69 years, Billie J. Solomon, who resides in Kerrville, Texas. Their love was a testament to enduring partnership and commitment. Jake is also survived by his son, David E. Solomon, and his wife Sherry of Loveland, Colorado; his daughter, Rachel Legnion, and her husband, Wendell of Seguin, Texas; and a remarkable lineage of grandchildren: Shaun Solomon and his wife Diana, Roxannne Solomon, Tandi Hill, Amanda Novasad and her husband Joe, Cacy Legnion, C.J. Sandoz and his wife Becky Hyatt, his nine great-grandchildren, Sybil Rickman, Timothy Glenn, Tiffany Sandoz, Kayla Simental, Jared Girard, Penny Legnion, Aiden Hyatt, Evelyn Novosad, and Braden Solomon. Additionally, Jake is remembered fondly by his seven great-great-grandchildren, who brightened his life and brought him immense joy.

Jake's legacy is also marked by the memories of those who have preceded him in death — his parents, David and Ollie Solomon; his cherished daughter, Cynthia Solomon; and his sister, Rosemary Rampy. Though they are no longer with us, their love and influence remain a guiding force in the lives of his surviving family.

A visitation in honor of Jacob Bert Solomon will take place on April 30, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Both events will be held at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home, 2001 Nall St, Port Neches, Texas, 77651.

As we celebrate the life of Jake, we remember a man whose spirit was as grand as the landscapes he loved to explore. His warmth, humor, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him, reminding us of the importance of love, family, and the beauty of life's journeys.

I first met Mr. Solomon at Dr. Martin's office where he was a patient over 30 years ago. I remember him being a very kind and friendly man. He was one to ask how I was and how things were going. When I saw that he had passed, it brought back some fond memories. My deepest sympathies for the family.
