James O. Byrd, 87, passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2020 at his home in Kemah, Texas.
He was born in Shelbyville, Texas to the late Joseph and Ada Byrd on August 11, 1933.
James retired after 41 years of service at Texaco.
He was a member of Central Baptist Church in Port Neches.
James was a Master Mason for more than 60 years and a member of Cosmopolitan Lodge #872. He also had a dual membership with Nederland Masonic Lodge #1368 and was a member of El Mina Shriners.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of four years, Carolyn Byrd, his son Mike Byrd and wife Linda, his daughter Sheila Ward and husband Jay, stepsons Michael Conley and wife Lynda and Tom Conley and wife Crystel, grandsons Tobin Ward and wife Darci, Dustin Ward and wife Lanie, Will Byrd, Daniel Byrd and granddaughter Sarah Byrd, step grandchildren Quaylon, Tierney, Michelle, Charlie, and Melissa Conley and Kristen Small and six great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents and first wife, JoAn Byrd.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at Central Baptist Church in Port Neches from 10:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M. with the funeral service at 12:00 P.M. under the direction of Levingston Funeral Home Port Neches. Masonic graveside service to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
At his request, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Central Baptist Food Pantry at 903 Avenue B Port Neches, Texas 77651.
