I shall never forget when Aubrey was born. My Mom was so excited about her first grandchild. I was only six years of age at the time. My only regret at the time was that he lived too far away in another state and we couldn’t play with him . Aubrey was a gentle soul. I am not even sure if he ever became angry. I never heard him raise his voice. He always had that sweet spirit and that sweet smile. He had amazing natural talent. He was a great artist without any training. And what a successful race car driver he was. When my boys were growing up we spent many Saturday nights at the race track. We were all so proud of him. My dearest nephew, Aubrey , you left us all so much better because you were a loving part of our family. You will always be missed and your memory will be cherished. Heaven is sweeter because you are there. . Thank you for for the sweet aroma you have left with all of us who knew you. We will see you again soon and what a reunion that be. Until then my dearest nephew, you will be so sorely missed and continuously loved by all , who will never let your memory die!!!! Aunt Linda Jeanette

My precious nephew Aubrey was a man of gentle nature. His voice was kind, his heart was filled with love. I shall never forget that while I was in the hospital once in my younger years, he came to the hospital in Beaumont every day on his lunch hour to visit me. He just spent time with me and we talked about whatever came to our minds that day. God gave him a gentle nature and that gentle nature was healing to my heart and spirit. I shall always treasure the special talks we had, just the two of us at Joyce's house, after he hurt his back. I have these special memories that will never go away. Although I will not experience that kind, loving heart on the earth again except in my memories, I look forward to that great Reunion where we shall rejoice forever in our Father's Heavenly Kingdom. Until later our dear Aubrey. You have blessed us all. Our hearts now grieve for that precious spirit but we are not as those without hope. Good by for now our dear Aubrey. Aunt Jean

Aubrey was my older cousin by 10 years. I just a small kid when he started racing dirt tracks. Aubrey was only 16 or 17 but seemed like a full grown adult to me. He was only a kid doing what he loved. I remember the time he won crash of the year. As a kid it seemed to me like his car flipped 10 or 15 times. It was something. I rode my first go kart when I was about 5 or 6. The Cains had just purchased one and I wanted to give it a try. Of course it was not any regular go kart. It was a racing kart. It took off like a rocket. Felt like I was going 50 mphs. Everyone one thought I was going to hit the concrete wall at the plaza behind their gas station. Me included. Luckily I got it under control. When i stopped they were all running towards me. I think i spooked them some. Unfortunately it was my last time getting to drive the go kart. If they have races in heaven I know Audrey will be there putting the petal to the metal. Love and miss u cuz. Jerry Strickland
