I always loved to see Bro. Carr's smile at church services and men's fellowship events. Rest easy and tell Marie I said "Hi" and that I miss her dearly. - Bill Cribbs

Elaine and Don, Being a child in the 60s and 70s on Gulf St was a blessing too big to measure and the good memories too many to even begin to share here. It was back in a time when we were all close and spent time in each other’s homes and even learned from the families that we spent time with. I had the best examples from you and Mr Carr. I am continuing my prayers for you and Don for comfort and peace. Thank you to your family for being such a positive memory and example in my life.

Dear Mrs Carr and Don, I was just made aware of Mr Carr’s passing. I have many fond memories of your garage on Gulf Street, him helping Tim & I design and construct Tim’s, then later my model train set-up. Also, my dad and I going there and we’d make our soap-box derby cars for Boy Scouts. Of course Don, you’d be there. You and Tim would pester each other endlessly. Your dad would finally have enough, he’d set down whatever he was working on, calmly say: Boys! Give you guys a look and peace ensued....for ten minutes or so. Elaine and Don, my heartfelt prayers go out to you and my wonderful memories will live in me as long as I do.

Dearest Elaine & All The Family- At this time we have to say goodbye to a wonderful relative & friend. Our parting is mixed with sadness & peace -- with sadness because we will miss him, & with peace that by faith in Christ we will see him in Heaven again! Praying that God will grant all of you comfort, strength, hope, and His peace. With our love to all of you! Otto & Jean Brillinger

James was a great friend, longtime back fence neighbor, and supervisor and mentor. He knew more about men than most, and treated us with fairness and sternness, and showed us the true meaning of “kick butt”, and showed us how we should operate our work and our lives. Personal note: I’ll never forget the scare he gave Wayne Gunter and me when he caught us shooting hummingbirds in his bottlebrush tree. His passing is a great loss to all who knew him. Elaine, our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Terry and Carlie Phillips

Mr. Carr was a mentor and friend to many of us who came up under his leadership in the refinery. I learned how to treat people and expect, even demand the best from them. He recognized strengths and weaknesses in all of us and put people in the best possible position for success and contribution to the team. He cared about every individual’s family and granted emergency leave even when there may not have been any vacation or other leave left in the books. He saw no skin color - everyone was respected. Many , many prayers were raised to ask that he be granted some additional days to continue and grace us with his presence. I suspect God needed him for some special assignment and after about a thousand years of shouting around the throne, we’ll be there with him again, proud to help with his assignment. I miss him already... RGB
