James Chandler "Chan" Breaux passed away at the age of 52 on May 15th, 2022 in Nederland, TX. He was born in Port Arthur, TX to his Mother, Becky Fontenot Sontany. When his Mother remarried a few years later, he was adopted by his new father John "Mickey" Breaux. Chan soon became a big brother to his sister Misty Breaux a couple of years later. As an adult, he also got to know his three half sisters from out of state. He attended school in Groves and Port Neches where he enjoyed playing the drums in the marching band. He was active in sports growing up, especially baseball. He always had a passion for music, just like his father Mickey. Chan was married then divorced in the nineties. He was part of the Rita Hurricane Emergency Response Team, helped to clear out the trees. He worked for several businesses through the years in Jefferson County, until he had his heart attack when he was 47. He was a smart, handsome, charming, witty, funny, loyal and a loving man who was quick to help out anyone. He is very loved and deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his father, John "Mickey" Breaux in August 2021, his Uncle Danny Breaux, his Uncle Jerry Cameron, his Aunt Helen Breaux Locke & husband Jack & son Leland, his Aunt Dolly Breaux Nunez & her son David Nunez, his Aunt Judy Fontenot, his grandparents Oresse & Levie Breaux, McClure Fontenot, Eva Gaspard Fontenot Auffurth & Bud Auffurth.
Chan is survived by his Mother Becky Breaux, his sister Misty Breaux, his Aunts & Uncles: Myrna Breaux, Tom Fontenot, Peggy Mundschau & husband Steve, Sheila Dickey & husband Jim, and Roger Fontenot, and his many cousins & their families in TX, LA, CA and FL. He also leaves his many friends and his beloved rescue cats Ren, Jack and Snow.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 22nd, 2022 concurrently with his Father, John "Mickey" Breaux at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches with visitation at 1pm and service at 2pm and a fellowship & meal to follow at the USW Union Hall at 1609 Port Neches Avenue. Contributions can be made to "Beaumont Pets Alive" for Chan and for Mickey the "Gulf Coast Museum of Port Arthur".
