James C. Darsie, 91, of Houston Texas formerly of Groves died November 23, 2011 at his residence. James was born January 29, 1920 in Scottdale, Pennsylvania to Richard and Helen Darsie. He was a resident of the Groves Area for fifty years before moving to Houston four years ago. James was a retired Engineer from Gulf Oil with thirty years of service and a member of the United Methodist Temple in Port Arthur. He was a member of the Griffin Park Lions Club and a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. Funeral services will be held on Monday November 28, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Byron Jarratt officiating at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.at the funeral home. James was preceded in death by his wife Modean Darsie and sister Martha Hope. He is survived by his daughter Esther Hartman and husband Barry of Houston, Texas; brother Richard Darsie, Jr. of Plain Grove, Pennsylvania and numerous nieces and nephews.
