James Marcus "Chippy" Haines

James Marcus "Chippy" Haines, 77, of Port Neches, Texas passed away Saturday, June 5, 2021 at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur, Texas.

James was born February 27, 1944 in Port Arthur, Texas to George Delaware Haines and May Pearl Domingue Haines.

He was a lifelong resident of this area and a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches.

James retired from Pipefitters Local 195 with 40 years of service.

James loved to hunt, fish, shrimp, and crab. He even built his own shrimp boat which he used to haul in many loads of shrimp.

He loved spending time in his shop with family and friends sharing a cold beer and watching sports.

James was preceded in death by his brother, Harvey L. Haines.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Sharon Giblin Haines of Port Neches, Texas; daughter, Angie Haines Waller and husband Mike of Cypress, Texas; sisters, Renee Haines Barber of Vidor, Texas; sister-in-law, Doris Haines of Vidor, Texas; brother, Kyle Haines and wife Charlotte of Nacogdoches, Texas; grandchildren, Colter James Brady and Cassidy Ann Brady, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation for family and friends will begin at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, June 26, 2021 at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church with Reverend Shane Baxter officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 2006 Nall Street, Port Neches, Texas 77651.
