James "Jimmy" Earl Davis Sr.

He was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, American Legion Eagles Fraternity Order, SALT Club and OCAW Local #423. Jimmy was devoted to his family and his Lord and Savior. I worked with Jimmy for many years in his position as a union representative. He was a loyal and dedicated employee who always had the best interests of his fellow union members at heart. Every time I would see him, he had a smile on his face and a story to tell about the history of the plant. I missed him when he retired, but saw him on a number of occasions when he returned to the plant as a contractor to assist in several major projects and turnarounds. My sincere condolences to Jimmy's family. Lee Pouter, Human Resources Manager, Motiva-Port Arthur Refinery

My thoughts and prayers are with you and the family as you mourn the loss of "The Captain". Jimmy was always had a smile on his face, full of life, taking care of his job and sharing his experiences through numerous stories. A lot of his conversations would always go back to how much he loved his family.

I met Mr. Jimmy several years ago when he came out to Motiva to write permits for “turnarounds.” The moment we met it was like we had known each other forever. His 25 years in the Coast Guard & my 26 years in the Air Force, we would razz each other about the others branch of service, all in fun of course. I never once saw Mr. Jimmy without a smile on his face. It was always contagious too. He gave me several items from his very extensive Texaco collection to add to my small collection, which I will cherish forever. I always made a point of giving Mr. Jimmy a hug on our way up to our seats at the PNG football games. My heart hurts because of the loss of such a wonderful man. I wish I was half the man he was and blessed to have him as a friend. My prays go out to all of his family. Heaven just gained one of the most wonderful gentleman angels ever. Michael Whitney
