James (Jimmy) Spurlock Jones Jr. (Papa) was bigger than life and he never met a stranger. He was married to his wife Judith H. Jones for 59 years. He was a total people person that cared deeply for his family and friends. His contagious smile and laughter made everyone laugh and smile. He was strong, encouraging , caring and loved the finer things in life as well as having fun. From an early age cars were his passion. That love developed into car sales that supported his family well, won him numerous awards throughout the years, took him all over the world and established the trust of generations in families that always came back to him for his knowledge, kindness and assistance. Until his illness at 80 years young he still looked forward to getting up every morning and going to work because he still found it a challenge and fun helping people get the right car for their need's and their families. Papa loved birthdays and the holidays the most. He looked forward to having his family especially all twelve of his grandchildren, Ross A. Jones and wife Blake Jones of Hawley, TX., Timothy C. Galvan II and wife Nicole Duarte Galvan of Houston, TX., Krystal M. Jones and fiancé Brianna Anderson of Abilene, TX., Tiphani M. Galvan of League City, TX., Shelby R. Jones and wife Branda Jones of Stephenville, TX., Katelyn R. Jones of LaMarque TX., Clayton J. Jones of Abilene, TX., and Tal G. Jones of Woodville TX., and eight great grandchildren Lane, Shelton, Oakleigh, Luke, Elena, Colton, Romeo and Kohen around him. He was thrilled to have three grandsons born in a two week span this year. He always made time for everyone no matter what was going on. He was our sounding board, provider of words of advice and wisdom and our strongest advocate. He was always generous to his family, friends and strangers alike. Daily he made sure everyone knew how special and loved they were. He was proceeded in death by his parents James Spurlock Jones Sr., and Dorthy Pearl Davis Jones, his daughter Michelle Jones and his brother Larry Jones. He was the ROCK of our family. And family was everything to him. He adored his children daughter, Kimberly J. Galvan and spouse Timothy C. Galvan of Galveston, TX., son, James Lester Jones of Woodville, TX., son Kyle Wesley Jones of Galveston, TX., brother William David Jones and wife Carol Ann Jones of Port Neches, TX., and nephews Chad and Scott Jones. We will all miss him immensely.
