James Robert Jones

James Robert "Jimmy" Jones 91, of Port Arthur passed away Saturday May 10, 2014 at Magnolia Manor in Groves. James was born in Port Neches Texas on October 12, 1922 to Clyde Jones and Edna Choate Jones. He was a lifelong area resident and retired as a storeroom clerk with 30 years of service from BP Refinery which was formerly Atlantic Refinery. James was a veteran of WWII having served in the Army Air Corp as an airplane mechanic. James was preceded in death by his wife Hazel Doris Jones and his daughter Judy Francis Jones Sandifer. A visitation for family and friends will begin at 12:00 noon on Wednesday May 14, 2014 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Beverly Tune of First United Methodist Church of Groves officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. James is survived by two daughters Linda Lock and husband, Tom of Port Arthur and Bobby Bourque and husband, Roger of Port Arthur; son, Sidney Jones and wife, Jeanette of Groves; sister, Marjorie Schram of Kountze; twelve grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. The family would like to send a special thanks to Kathalean Simien and all the other caregivers and staff at Magnolia Manor. Also a special thanks to Scott Gaspard and the officers of the Port Arthur Police Department.
