James Walker, 78, of Nederland, passed away Friday, August 10, 2012 at the MidJefferson Hospital in Nederland. He was born on January 7, 1934 in Belmont, LA to the late Burkett and Erie Mae Grantham Walker. James was a carpenter by trade and served in the U.S. National Guard. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 1368 of Nederland.Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at Melancons Funeral Home in Nederland with Masonic Rites. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.He is survived by his children, Wade Walker and wife Kristina of Dallas Jamie Colichia and husband Rickey of Nederland, and Russell Walker and wife Maxine of Nederland grandchildren, Christopher, Kristen, Alex, Amanda, Todd, Ashleigh, and Andrew three greatgrandchildren and sister, Iva Mae Jones of Port Neches. He was preceded in death by his wife of more than 50 years, Betty Sue Hawkins his parents and brothers, Dave Walker, and Arthur Walker.Memorials may be made to the Masonic Lodge 1368 P.O.
