James Kenneth Parrish, a loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on January 20, 2025, in Beaumont, Texas, at the age of 82. He was born on January 22, 1942, in Center, Texas. He was a dedicated Process Operator for 34 years at Ameripol Synpol Corporation in Port Neches, where his diligent work and steadfast commitment were well recognized by his peers and community.
James proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, an experience that enriched his life and character. Throughout his years, he exemplified the virtues of hard work and loyalty, traits that resonated deeply with those who knew him.
A man of many interests, James found great joy in outdoor activities, particularly fishing and hunting. His passion for the great outdoors not only brought him happiness but allowed him to create cherished memories with family and friends. He was known for his loving and kind personality, qualities that will be dearly missed by those who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Sonya Parrish; his daughters, Krista Rutledge and her husband Al of Vidor, and Stephanie Brisendine of Nederland; and his beloved grandchildren, Mason Maxey, Evan Setliff, Albert Rutledge III, and Matthew Rutledge. James also leaves behind his brothers, Greg Pickard of Orange, Bruce Pickard of Ashland, KY, and Royce Parrish of Bronson, TX.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin Cecil Parrish and his mothers; Geneva Marie Parrish and Frances Eveline Parrish; and his brothers, Paul Wayne Parrish, Keith Pickard, and Perry Kevin Parrish.
Visitation will be held on January 27, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by the funeral service commencing at 2:00 PM. Both services will take place at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home, 1605 Avenue H, Nederland, TX 77627.
James Kenneth Parrish leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion, deeply embedded in the hearts of his family and friends. His memory will forever live on through the lives he touched and the kindness he imparted throughout his journey.
