James Roland Plante, 82, of Orange, Texas passed away Monday, August 7, 2017 at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur, Texas. James was born November 24, 1934 in New Orleans, Louisiana to John Plante and Isabelle Naquin Plante. He was a resident of this area for forty-five years and a self-employed Musician and Sign Painter. James was a member of the Catholic Faith and also a US Army Veteran. A visitation for family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 11, 2017 at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Military Graveside Rites to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park. Surviving relatives include his daughter, Alisa Dawn Groves and husband Anthony of Bowling Green, Ohio; son, Jason Plante and wife Kelly of Port Neches, Texas; six grandchildren, Zackarie Groves and wife Hannah, Britney, Jefrey, and Lilli Groves, Jake and Kaje Plante; great-grandchildren, Peyton and Mila Groves.
