James Richard Strange

James Richard Strange, 82, of Port Arthur passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at Golden Years Assisted Living in Orange, Texas.

He was born in Santa Anna, Texas on May 18, 1939 to Albert Earl Strange and Onie Mary Casey Strange.

James had lived in this area since 1968 and retired from Texaco, Inc. as an electrician after 30 years of service.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army.

A visitation for family and friends will be Thursday, July 8, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 9, 2021 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Reverend J.C. Coon officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

James was preceded in death by his sister.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ramona Strange of Port Arthur, Texas, daughters, Tasha Smith and husband Max of Groves, Texas and Lilia Soileau and Kevin Thibodeaux of Groves, Texas, grandson, Joshua J. Soileau and wife Laura Lee and three great grandchildren, Keaton, Ava, and Mila.

I worked with Big Jim at the plant! I always respected him as a great operator and we had lots of good times! Rest In Peace my friend!
