I also have a C6 Corvette. I bought it used at a dealership a couple years ago. Nobody at that dealership told me anything about how to enter or exit the car in case of a power failure. I have a good friend who is a mechanic and he informed me what to do in case of a power failure. Rest in Peace, James Rogers.

This tragedy sickened and saddened me. My Uncle Phil was killed by a defective part of a vehicle. It was a defective cylinder on his brand new dump truck he had just bought. I am so sorry for your pain as it is times two. During their lives they must have been a formidable pair! So many things in life are not fair. Sending you love and prayers from New Hampshire Vayia Atherton

I didn't know Jim. Like others, I saw the story on the Internet. Just looking at the picture of this gentle-appearing man and his canine baby girl put tears in my eyes. How wonderful he had his "dream car" and the unconditional love of his pet, but how tragic the accident. My deepest sympathies to his family. I'm sure he was a much-loved Grandfather.

Condolences to the family. Such a tragic loss for such a memorable man. I knew James through my husband Keith who passed not quite a year ago. Met him at the Silver Spur in Pt Arthur when I was bartending. Good times back then, but then we get older. God rest your soul James and say hi to my husband Keith in heaven. I'm sure you two are catching up on old times.

My friend and neighbor of 17 years. Jim was the first person I met when we moved in. I was trying to mow my new neglected yard for the first time and my old mower was failing. Out of nowhere Jim appeared with his brand new Honda which he had yet to use himself. He handed it over to a total stranger. Then he brought his new rider over for me to use also. That started a 17 year friendship of tool trading, project helping and 100's of hours of garage talk. Generous, funny, helpful & didn't know a stranger. Friend, fellow vet and the best neighbor. We were sorry to see him move out and now heartbroken at the loss of this friend who at last word was looking forward to the road to come. Our hearts are with you all.
