James Russell Whitney, 19, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away May 15, 2011. He was born June 5, 1991 in Port Arthur, Texas to Robert Maxwell Whitney and Cynthia Laughlin. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Nederland.A gathering of family and friends will be held Wednesday, May 18, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Melancon39s Funeral Home, 1605 Avenue H in Nederland. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 19, 2011 at Fellowship Baptist Church in Nederland. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.James is survived by his father, Robert Whitney of Delhi, Louisiana aunt, Katherine Whitney of Nederland grandmother, Jane Whitney of Nederland grandfather, Harold Whitney of Nacogdoches uncle, Russell Whitney of Kennesaw, Georgia grandparents, James and Linda Laughlin of Toledo Bend uncles, Curtiss Laughlin and Calvin Laughlin, both of Orange aunt, Candi Morgan and husband Michael of Orange aunt, Tami Laughlin of Bridge City a sisterinlaw, Katy two nieces and many cousins, aunts, and uncles. He is preceded in death by his mother, Cynthia Laughlin and brother, Patrick Wiggins.
