James Brett Sheppard, 60, of Port Neches, Texas passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2017. James was born July 21, 1956 in Groves, Texas to James L. Sheppard and Nell Rose Davenport Sheppard. He was a lifelong resident of Port Neches and was a Machinist. He also worked at Shep's Self Storage. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Oak Bluff Memorial Park. Visitation for family and friends will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches. James was preceded in death by his sister, Cheryl Sheppard. Surviving relatives include his wife, Karen Sheppard of Kirbyville, Texas; parents, James and Nell Sheppard of Port Neches, Texas; three daughters, Kristin Lyons of Port Neches, Texas; Rachel Sheppard of Houston, Texas; and Kelli Holmes of Port Neches, Texas; brother, Kenneth Sheppard of Vidor, Texas; three grandchildren, Maddox Lyons, Reese Roberts, and Carter Holmes.

I worked with Brett at Coastal Marine/Southern Valve at Port Arthur years ago and he was a good person. I hope he is at peace with God. He enjoyed life and helped others to be happy.

I am saddened to hear about the passing of Brett. Brett and I used to pick on each other and call each other "Shorty" He was a funny guy and I know he will be missed. I am really sorry I just found out about this because I would have liked to have attended his service. Prayers for your family.
