James P. Stoker, Jr., 90, of Nederland, Texas passed away on May 27, 2018. He was born on September 30, 1927 in Nacogdoches, Texas to the late James Pinkard Stoker, Sr. and Cecile Whitmire Stoker. James worked as a lab technician for 35 years before retiring for UNOCAL Refinery. He served his county proudly in the U. S. Army and was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
James is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ruby Lohmeyer Stoker of Nederland; his son, Daryl K. Stoker and his wife, Debbie of New Braunfels; his daughter, Phyllis Love and her husband, Wade of Austin; 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; his sisters, Betty Ruth Meriwether of Mt. Pleasant, Cecile Ann Kinkle of Houston and Doris White of Huntsville; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 1, 2018 at Melancon’s funeral Home in Nederland. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Melancon’s Funeral Home with interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
Memorials can be given to Holy Cross Lutheran Church of Nederland, Kindred Hospice, or donor’s choice.
