James Lee Yoakum, 51, of Nederland passed away Sunday, July 19, 2015 at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur.

A gathering of the family and friends will be at 1:00pm until the service time at 2:00 pm Friday, July 24, 2015 at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County in Nederland.

James is survived by his mother, Renate Yoakum of Nederland; daughter, Candace Yoakum of Oklahoma; sisters, Kitty Yoakum of Bryan, and Patty Wood and her husband, Jack of Nederland; also four grandchildren.

I am so terribly sorry to learn of Jimmys passing, we are so sorry that we just learn this today, almost ninety days after his passing. I knew Jimmy well and spent a lot of time with him, had a lot of long talks with him about circumstances that we both had faced and dealt with thru the years. Jimmy was a good person and a good friend, I loved Jimmy! God Bless Jimmy Yoakum!!
