Jana Breeden Stelly

1961 ∼ 2021

Jana Breeden Stelly, age 60, of Port Arthur, Texas has gone to meet her Lord and Savior on Friday, August 6, 2021 after her courageous battle with cancer.

Jana was born May 17, 1961, in Houston, Texas. She attended three different high schools including, West Columbia High School, Atlanta High School and graduated from Little Cypress Mauriceville High School. She studied journalism at Sam Houston State University.

Jana was a woman with a strong Christian faith and she always put others before herself. Jana found the perfect job when she became a travel agent. She loved helping people find and plan their dream vacation. She also went on several mission trips with her church to serve others. In her spare time, Jana enjoyed vacationing with her husband and cruising with her friends. She loved going to visit her grandson, Anthony, whom she nicknamed, Tiger. Their favorite thing to do was to go to amusement parks to ride all the rollercoasters. Jana had many accomplishments in her life, but she would say her greatest accomplishment was her daughter, Tiffany.

As Jana went through her cancer journey, she never gave up on herself or her faith. She persevered through every situation and her ultimate test became her testimony. Jana's legacy will never be forgotten. We will always remember her warm smile, her words of encouragement and her gracious heart.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 with Funeral Services to follow at 12:00 p.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves.

Jana was preceded in death by both her parents, Philip and Joy Breeden; her previous husband, Robert James Vincent and her grandson, Elie Doucet.

Jana is survived by her husband and soulmate of 27 years, Robert Stelly; daughter, Tiffany Rivas Hernandez and husband Eric; step-daughters, Kimberly Stelly Doucet and husband Larry and Mette Illum Peterson and husband Jack; step-sons, Joey Vincent and wife Christian and Daniel Vincent and sister, Phyllis Breeden Pare.

Her grandchildren include Anthony Hernandez; Israel, Erika, Alisa Pastrana, Kash Doucet; Kaden and Ellie Vincent; Oliver, Oscar, Flora Illum-Peterson and nephew Michael Pare.

She will also be greatly missed by many extended family and wonderful friends.

I, too, first ran across Jana at Delta, around the end of 2016! What a blessing she was to everyone there! To know her is to love her, and loved she was...loved by all! After her diagnosis, I watched as y'all walked out that journey with the utmost faith. Without a doubt, your family has made a difference in so many! Thank you for your consistent, unwavering faith. We do mourn and grieve, but not without hope! Hope that soon and very soon, we will be reunited for eternity. God bless and keep you! Sincere condolences, Terri Sparks (Encounter Church)

I met Jana at Delta and because we had same first name, we connected on a immediate long lost friend level. She was so kind and and inspiring at all times. Her beautiful spirit will be missed. I wish I could be there but I had foot surgery and can't walk for 3 weeks. Spread those pain free wings my friend and fly high !!!

Robert, I know this is a hard time for you as I went through and is still going through the grieving process. When we lose a loved one especially someone we shared our life hopes, and dreams with, it leaves a hole in your heart. Know that Jana is whole and healed and stepped into the arms of Jesus. We will see our loved one again when we step into heaven and they will greet us and welcome us in. There will be tough times ahead but when those times come think of her happy, rejoicing and praising our Lord. Ruby Boudreaux & I (Janis Parks) will be praying for you and your family. God Bless

Robert, Tiffany, & Phyllis, what an loving & selfless woman Jana was!! Just by having her in my life, blessed & enriched it beyond measure!! I know she is no longer in pain & is now in the arms of Jesus!!! She has now been reunited with her parents & Charlie too!!! I will always hold her close in my heart!!! "MY life long friend"!!!! I love & miss you!!!! I do have to share that one night, while at Sam Houston, my roommate locked me out of our dorm room after she got into a fight with another girl. I was going to sleep on Jana & her roommate's floor, but since I had a slight cold, she wouldn't let me. We shared her twin bed that night. She was always watching out for others. She had the biggest heart!!!!
