Jane Elizabeth McBroom Busby, 66, of Waxahachie, Texas formerly of Nederland, Texas passed away Monday, September 11, 2023. Jane was born on August 18, 1957 in Groves, Texas to Delbert and Norma McBroom.

Jane was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was a former member of Crossroads Fellowship Church in Nederland and enjoyed singing in the choir. Jane retired from Bridge City Independent School District after 30 years of service as a registered school nurse. She doted on her grandchildren often and loved shopping for them.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Delbert E. McBroom and Norma K. (Jordan) McBroom; mother-in-law, Martha Busby.

Those left to cherish Jane’s memory include her loving husband of 45 years, Donald E. Busby of Waxahachie, Texas; son, Ryan E. Busby of Danville, Virginia; daughter, Megan N. Anderson of Waxahachie, grandchildren, Connor Jackson, Liam Anderson, Blair Anderson, Rory, Remy and Rhett Busby; brother, Ron McBroom and wife Lisa of Godley, Texas; and father-in-law, Thomas Busby.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday, September 16, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., at Melancon Funeral Home in Nederland. Cremation services are under the direction of Melancon Funeral Home.

Mrs. Busby was a great school nurse and a school administrator but she was way more than that. Mr. And Mrs. Busby were such a wonderful and fun and godly example to our youth group at First Baptist, Bridge City. They made everything fun and were totally authentic in their relationship with Jesus. She was a trusted confidant and leader for a young teenage girls heart and angst. I pray for her family and know that she is resting comfortably in the arms and presence of our savior! The world is a little darker place without her in it, but I know we will all be together again one day playing “Never have I ever…”

I had her as my Nurse in High School, she is always caring and sweet every time I had to come in. Very understanding and downright AMAZING!! She always had a smile on her face, and was up to talk if you needed someone to talk too. She always made sure I was okay no matter what.
