Janice L. Brodnax, 66, of Vidor, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Gulf Health Care Nursing Home. She was born February 19, 1949 in Port Arthur, Texas to Cpl. Charles L. Barnett and Billie Jean Fairchild Barnett. She was christened in the Methodist faith. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1967. She was snare drum sergeant for the Red Hussars. She followed that with graduation from Lamar State College of Technology in 1970 with a BS in Elementary Education. After a short time teaching, she changed to a career in accounting that spanned 40 years. She is survived by her husband, Arthur E. Bordnax, Vidor; her mother, Billie Jean Barnett, Port Arthur; brother, Charles L. Barnett (Kathy), Bon Wier; daughters, Amy L. Wittington (Chris), Billings, MT and Sara E. Lovecchio (Ryan), Midland; grandsons, Alex Whittington and Jordan Lovecchio; and sister-in-law, Sharon K. Lopez (Mike), Beaumont. She also leaves two friends, who provided invaluable support, LeReece Labove and Joyce Labove. She was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Bruce Barnett and her father. Direct cremation has been entrusted to Levingston Funeral Home, Groves, Texas. In keeping with Janice's wishes, there will be no memorial service.
