Janice M. Conerly, 93, of Nederland, Texas passed away May 2, 2018. She was born on July 26, 1924 in Leesville, Louisiana to the late Tampie and Clarice Craft McRae. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Nederland and sang with the Silvertone Choir. At a young age, Janice worked at Fort Polk, Louisiana, but most of her working career was as a secretary at Jefferson County Juvenile Probation Department.
Janice is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Martin and husband, James (Bubba) of Nederland and Cathy Glover of Katy; her grandchildren, Scott Martin and his wife Tiffany, Aimee Duron and her husband Gabe, Jace Martin and his wife Jacey, and Lisa Glover; and her great-grandchildren, Nick, Grace, Clay, Braden, Bryce, Leah, and Ashley. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Elton Conerly; her brother, Tom McRae; and her son-in-law, Ray Glover.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday, May 5, 2018 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County in Nederland.
Memorials may be given to First Baptist Church of Nederland.
