Janie Gonsoulin Boudreaux, 63, of Port Neches, passed away on January 20, 2013, at Calder Woods in Beaumont. She was born in Killeen, TX, to the late Albert and Marie Gonsoulin on March 11, 1949. Janie was a lifelong Port ArthurPort Neches resident and retired from PNISD as a special education aide. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches and was a 1967 graduate of Bishop Byrne High School.Janie was a loving devoted wife, mother and grandmother who didnt meet a stranger. Everyone was touched by her beautiful smile and generous, selfless personality.She is survived by her husband, Bryan Boudreaux of Port Neches daughter, Shanna Briggs and husband Lee of Beaumont son, Brad Boudreaux and wife, Kara of Katy sister, Dianne Gonsoulin Hastings of Nederland. Janie is also survived by grandchildren, Brooks Boudreaux, Reid Boudreaux, Macy Briggs and Kate Briggs.A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches with Msgr. Bennie Patillo celebrant. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches under the ion of Melancons Funeral Home in Nederland. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 12:00 noon until service time at 2:00 PM at the church, 2006 Nall Street in Port Neches.In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches or Catholic Charities.

I am saddened by the death of Janie. She was a sweet, sweet lady who could charm anyone with her sweet spirit and contagious smile. I worked with Janie for a time and she was a very caring individual who loved her children or students. She was so proud of Brad and Shannon and doted on her husband, Bryan. She never failed to exhibit her faith and spoke often of praying for someone or something. I did not realize until recently that she was even ill.
