Jared W. McDonald

Jared W. McDonald, 29, of Tobyhanna, and formerly of Port Arthur, Texas, died August 17, 2011 as the result of a motorcycle accident. He was the husband of Shanley (Teal) McDonald and father of Luke Gordon McDonald, both of Tobyhanna. Born in Nederland, Texas, he was the son Colleen (Eastburn) Hutchins of Tobyhanna and the late Harlod G. McDonald. Jared attended Monsignor McHugh Elementary School and was a 2000 graduate of Pius X, where he played football for four years. He was a certified automotive technician earning his degree at Johnson College. Before moving to the area, he was employed at Twin City Nissan in Port Arthur, Texas. In addition to his wife Shanley, son Luke, and his mother Colleen, Jared is survived by a Step-father, Robert Hutchins of Tobyhanna; a brother, Dustin McDonald of Nederland, TX; grandmother, Jane Eastburn of Groves, TX; grandfather, Harry McDonald of Port Neches, TX; Step-grandparents, Joan and Ray LaVigne of Tobyhanna, Buck Hutchins and Joan Schaffer of Newfoundland, PA; father-in-law, Glenn Teal of Vidor, TX; mother-in-law, Marci Ozan of Kirbyville, TX and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Richard Eastburn and grandmother, Jane McDonald. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 26, 2011 at St. Peter Catholic Church in Groves, Texas with Reverend D. Stephen McCrate officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, Texas under the direction of Levingston Funeral Home in Groves. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday evening from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. with a Vigil Services conducted at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
