Jason Alexander Chapman was born on December 24, 2000, in Port Arthur, Texas to Heather and Robert Chapman of Nederland, Texas. Jason walked into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 9, 2019, at the age of 18. Jason is survived by his parents Heather and Robert Chapman of Nederland, Texas; his sister and brother, Katie Chapman and Andrew Chapman of Nederland, Texas; grandparents, Benjamin Chapman of Winnie, Texas, and Pete Romano of Beaumont, Texas; his aunt, Andrea Chevalier and husband Gary of Richmond, Texas; his uncle, Christopher Chapman of Port Acres, Texas; and cousins Audrey and Allison Chevalier of Richmond, Texas. Jason will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him.
Jason was a senior at Nederland High School where he played the saxophone for the Golden Pride of the Golden Triangle Military Marching Band. He was an avid lover of science and won the top science award for his grade at school in both biology and IPC. His pride and joy was his bearded dragon named Liz. He was an active member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Nederland. He served on missions with his Hillcrest youth group and loved to tell anyone about Jesus.
His funeral services will be held on Monday, October 14, 2019 at Hillcrest Baptist Church. A viewing will be from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a service following at 2:00 p.m. at the church.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up at Hillcrest Baptist Church Nederland to help with funeral expenses.
