Jay Anthony Theriot

Jay Anthony Theriot, 58, of Nederland, Texas passed away August 25, 2021. He was born in Port Arthur, Texas on November 26, 1962 to the late Dennis Paul Theriot and Amy Marie Loncon Theriot. Jay was a devout Christian and faithful member of Faith Harbor in Port Arthur. He loved his family. He was a loving husband, father, PawPaw, and brother. Jay loved playing slot machines and watching western shows. He was an avid fisherman and a great mechanic. He could fix pretty much anything and loved to help people in need. Jay will truly be missed.

Those left to cherish Jay’s memory are his wife, Sarah Foote; his son, Justin Theriot; his grandson, Lincoln Theriot; his step-children, Jamiee Hughes, Emily DeBow, and Ben Foote; his step-grandchildren, Joven Hughes, Jace Hughes, Carter Foote, Jimmy DeBow, Daniel DeBow, and Allison DeBow; and his siblings, Joann Curtice, Terry Theriot and his wife Beverly, and Jan Stelly and her husband Michael; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; his son, James Theriot; his brothers, Jerry Theriot, Dennis Theriot, Sr., Ricky Theriot, and Kim Theriot; and sisters, Glenda Domec, and Sue Hargrave.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland on Friday, September 3, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a funeral service being held at 2:00 p.m., Pastor Lynn Parker officiant. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.
