Jean Hawsey McLaughlin, 77, of Groves, Texas passed away Monday, May 20, 2013 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur. Jean was born October 27, 1935 in Port Arthur, Texas to Lincoln A. Hawsey and Aline Hollander Hawsey. She was a lifelong area resident and graduated in 1954 from Thomas Jefferson High School. Jean was a homemaker and member of the United Methodist Temple. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. James E. "Pal" McLaughlin. Survivors include one daughter, Kathy McLaughlin Owens and husband, Mike of Tyler; two sons, Kyle McLaughlin and wife, Lisa of Pearland, and Keith McLaughlin of Groves; six grandchildren, Jordan, Tyler, Ashlyn Owens and Meagan, Logan and Jamie McLaughlin; one great-grandson, Bryce McLaughlin. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, May 23, 2013 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Reverend Jesse Brannen officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
