Jeanette Marie Carlson, 79, of Port Neches, passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2017, at her residence. Jeanette was born on September 19, 1938, in Port Arthur, to the late Avena James Mello and Lillie Mae Broussard Mello.

Those left to cherish her memories are her loving husband of 63 years, Conrad Carlson of Port Neches; daughter, Sandra Richards and husband, Wade of Nederland; sons, Mark Carlson and wife, Sue of Nederland, Lonnie Carlson and wife, Linda of Nederland; grandchildren, Erin Lewis, Adam Carlson, Jared Richards, Jason Richards, Chad Carlson and Dr. Taylor Pitts; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Shirley Sanders of Port Arthur and Linda Woods of Port Neches. She is preceded in death by her parents.

There will be a gathering of family and friends on Tuesday, December 26, 2017, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. The funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Jason Richards officiating, at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland. The interment will be at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.

Sorry for your loss. Praying for comfort for the family. I have fond memories of Jeanette when I was a child. I always had a fun time at their house. She will be missed, glad we all have great memories of her to cherish.

I will always remember Jeanette as being so kind and warm to me. When I married Bob she extended that same kindness and warmth to him. Though she will missed here on earth, heaven now has a new angel.
