Jeanette Deshotel, 94, of Port Neches, Texas passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2022 at Cascades Nursing Home in Port Arthur, Texas. Jeanette was born in Green Cove Springs, Florida to the late, Ozzie E. Curlee and Martha Bentley Curlee on June 11, 1927.

Those left to cherish Jeanette’s memory include her children, Connie Serra Barbay and her husband, Bill, and Louis J. Deshotel and his wife, JoJo; grandchildren, Kristi Barbay Zarmakoupis and her husband, Chris, Kevin Barbay and his wife, Kacie, and Charles Hiller; great-grandchildren, Isabella and Audrey Zarmakoupis, and Kynslie, Karson and Karoline Barbay; and her sisters, Helen Fazio and Betty Sue Stewart.

Jeanette is preceded in death by her parents, Ozzie E. Curlee and Martha Bentley Curlee; former husband, Salvatore Serra; her husband, Louis Deshotel; sisters, Florence Shable, Mildred Bennett, Lula Solana, Imogene Daniels; brothers, Ozzie Curlee and Harold Curlee.

A visitation will be held at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland, Texas on Monday morning, April 18, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. The funeral service will begin immediately following the visitation with Father J.C. Coon, officiant. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves, Texas.
