It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jeanie McGill, who departed this life on July 16, 2026, in Groves, Texas Born on June 15, 1953, Jeanie lived a life full of spirit and joy, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories for all who knew her.
Jeanie was a vibrant soul who was never one to stay still; she always wanted to be out doing things and embracing life. Shopping was her absolute favorite pastime, and she found immense enjoyment in her Triple Double Diamond Machine at Delta Downs. She had a particular fondness for Mexican food and margaritas, and her love for snacks was well-known, with circus peanuts and mint patties being her top choices. Jeanie was strong-willed and independent, sometimes stubborn, but always deeply loving.
Her heart held a special place for her family, especially her "babies" – her children – and she found great comfort and companionship in her beloved cats. Jeanie’s nurturing spirit and unwavering affection were a cornerstone of her life, enriching the lives of those closest to her.
Jeanie is survived by her devoted son, James McGill, II, and his wife, Breanna; her loving daughter, Danielle McGill; and her cherished grandchildren, Taylor McGill, Kenzie McGill, Lakelynn McGill, Rylee Bridgwater, Gracie McGill, Jaxon McGill, and Waylon McGill. She also leaves behind her dear sister, JoAnne Noble. Jeanie was preceded in death by her parents, Ira and Beulah Daigle; her beloved husband, James McGill; her sisters, Jacquelyn Rich and Judy Wallace; and her brother, Ronald Disney.
Jeanie's family will be holding a Celebration of Life on Friday, July 24, 2026 beginning with a visitation at 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., with a service to begin at 3:00 p.m., at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home, 1605 Avenue H, Nederland, Texas.
