Jeff Daniel Briggs, born on September 29, 1947, in Port Arthur Texas, bid farewell to this world on March 16, 2024, in Port Arthur, Texas. He was the beloved husband of Mary N. Briggs for 27 wonderful years.
Jeff will always be remembered as the oldest of nine children, a testament to his leadership and caring nature within his family circle. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of his surviving family and friends. Jeff is survived by his children: Doylene Gaines (Jennifer Beard) of Groves, DeWayne McCollough (Charlotte) of Nederland, Jason Briggs (Page) of Mauriceville, Jake Briggs (Aundrea) of Lebanon, MO., Jeremy Briggs of Groves, and Jed Briggs of Groves. His legacy continues through an astounding 24 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren who brought immense joy and pride to his life. Additionally, he is survived by four sisters and three brothers.
In addition to being a devoted family man, Jeff's commitment extended to service organizations as well. He proudly served as an American Legion Member and was an esteemed member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
A visitation and prayer service will be held on March 20, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at 5601 39th St in Groves. A funeral service is scheduled for March 21, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church located at 4100 Lincoln Avenue in Groves followed by burial at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
Jeff Daniel Briggs leaves behind a legacy marked by love, dedication, and a deep sense of family values. May he rest in peace knowing that he was cherished by all who had the privilege to know him.
