Jeff "Pete" Sanders, 62, of Groves, Texas passed away Thursday, August 16, 2012. "Pete" was born November 21, 1949 in Homer, Louisiana to Billie Gene Sanders and Lou Stewart Sanders. He was a lifelong resident of Groves and retired heavy equipment operator from I.U.O.E. Local 450. He was a member of San Jacinto High Rollers Motorcycle Club and Port Neches VFW Post 4820. He was a member of the Baptist faith and U.S. Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tammie Pitre. Survivors include his wife, Vonnie Sanders of Groves; sons, Michael Kent Sanders and wife, Thelma of Nederland, David Alan Sanders and wife, Trish of Warren, Micheal Gene Sanders of Port Arthur; sister, Diana Sanders of Call; brothers, Billy Sanders of Call, Kevin Sanders and wife, Agnes of Port Arthur; nine grandchildren, Vonnie Pitre, Zack Pitre, Shae Sanders, Katie Sanders, Jasmine Sanders, Elisabeth Meche, Emma Meche, David Sanders, and Pete Christian. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 20, 2012 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Reverend David Bleakly officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday evening from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
