Jerry Anthony Savant, Sr., 69, of Port Neches passed away June 6, 2011 at North Cypress Medical Center in Cypress, Texas. He was born August 26, 1941 in Port Arthur, Texas to the last Wasey and Laura Fontenot Savant. He served his country proudly in the U. S. Army and was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches.A gathering of family and friends will be held at Melancon39s Funeral Home, 1605 Avenue H in Nederland on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 1:00 p.m., Father Stephen McCrate officiating. He is survived by his son, Jerry A. quotRustyquot Savant, Jr. of Groves, Texas and brother, Douglas Charles Savant, Sr. of Siloam Springs, Arkansas. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Rusty and family, I am so sorry for the loss of Jerry. He was a great cousin. I can remembert the times he would come over to Kinder, it was happy times always. I know he is at peace now and not suffering any more. May God bless all of you and up lift you at this time. Paula

Jerry and his little dog Sugar ...we were good friends and spent many happy times together whether it be taking our little dogs out to the park or dancing to music that we both loved. We shared lots of good times and yes some sad ones too. But I will always remember the good times, his smile, his laughter and how he always worried about me and was always ready to listen when I was down. My little dog Muffy loves his dog Sugar and was always so happy to see Jerry as we shared alot of happy times out at the park. Jerry comes from a very warm and beautiful family whom I to this day love and cherish. I will miss my old friend,...he was always there for me and ready to listen. He will be very much missed, God Bless him and his whole family. I know he is at peace now as his soul goes into Heaven. Chrissy savant and Muffy.
