Jerry Lee Smith

Jerry Lee Smith, 58, of Port Acres, Texas passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2011. Jerry was born September 30, 1953 in Larchellie, France to Jack Smith, Sr. and Betty Davis Smith. He was a resident of Port Acres for 28 years and worked as a carpenter and oil rigger until his retirement. He was a member of New Covenant Church and American Legion Post #493. He was a U.S. Marine veteran. He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Smith. Survivors include his wife, Karen Smith of Port Acres, TX; father, Jack Smith of Ohio; three sons, Justin Smith, Gary Smith and Melvin Smith all of Port Acres, TX; daughter, Kyra Lynn Smith of Jacksonville, FL; sister, Jacklyn Smith of Ohio; four brothers, Sam Smith, Pearl Smith, Jack Smith, Jr. and Timothy Smith all of Ohio; two grandchildren, Jayle Smith and Tisha Smith. A memorial service will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 26, 2011 at New Covenant Church in Port Acres with Reverend Charles Wolfe officiating.
